Abstract:

Victoria’s first marine spatial planning framework has been developed as part of the State government’s new marine and coastal policy. The framework provides guidance and a process to support a more integrated and coordinated approach to marine planning and management.

This presentation will outline the participatory, co-design approach used to draft the framework and provide some reflections on application of this approach to the development of government policy. A brief overview of the framework’s key elements will also be provided.
